Toho Bead contest winner: About The Artist
Charmaine Pesnell is a self taught artist that is driven to create art every day. She see beauty everywhere and want to recreate it in her own style. In this creation she used Toho beads and love their roundness and consistency. When She heard about the Toho competition at Sweet Creek Beadstore it gave her the excuse to create her beaded bottle. She had the design in her head but at the moment that she heard about the competition the design became 3 dimensional. The bottle took her 3 months to bead. At the time her son was a wounded soldier "my duty as a mom was to call him every day so he had someone to talk to" .This beaded bottle gave her peace after the phone calls. "You can see my pain and peace in the bottle". Charmaine spent her early childhood in Japan and chose cherry blossoms for the bottle because they stood out in her memories of the beauty in Japan.
